General Information About the School
The Greater Philadelphia Realty Board School is the oldest non-profit real
estate school licensed by the Pennsylvania State Real Estate Commission. The
school was established in 1935 in response to the need for practical real estate
education.
Market demands and legal complexities on the real estate profession have
increased greatly since the school was founded. The present
curriculum was developed to meet the requirements of licensed real estate practitioners,
as well as adults seeking a career in real estate. Students who satisfactorily
complete the suggested course of study will probably meet most, if not all, of
all education requirements of real estate licensure. In addition, completion of appraisal
courses can satisfy certain portions of the PA State Board of Certified Real
Estate Appraisers' requirements for residential or general certification.
The school's academic program offers a full range of courses that prepare the
student to challenge the real estate licensing examination, as well as the
appraiser certifications administered by the state. Each course is comprehensive
and interesting. Theoretical concepts are interwoven and explained through practical
application.
Changes in state mandated continuing education presents an opportunity to
meet new challenges and professional development opportunities. Greater
Philadelphia Realty Board School offers a verity of Mandatory Continuing
Educations (MCE) courses. MCE courses are continually being developed and
several will be introduced during the upcoming continuing education cycle.
In addition to the main campus in Northeast Philadelphia, the Greater
Philadelphia Realty Board School is authorized by the State Real Estate Commission
to offer education programs at the following locations:
